FAQs
If you have a question, I highly recommend you to reach out, but it might be covered here!
How do you define "neurodivergent"?
It’s a great question! While the term neurodivergence is often used to refer to autism or ADHD, it can also include many other ways that a person’s brain might be considered “not typical” by this society's standards. This can include experiences such as anxiety or panic, depression or profound sadness, hallucinations or hearing voices, learning disabilities like dyslexia or dyscalculia, or simply needing a bit more support for any number of reasons.
Are your services just for people with diagnosed disabilities?
I chose not to specify my services as strictly disability-focused for a few reasons. Mainly because not everyone has access to diagnosis and not everyone identifies with disability or neurodivergence. I create services that are able to be tailored to all minds, regardless of identity or diagnosis. I've worked with people who:
identify as neurodivergent
identify as having mental health challenges or experiences (e.g. anxiety, depression, feeling sad, feeling nervous)
identify as neurotypical (they just need support)
identify as disabled and/or chronically ill, sick, etc.
How do I know if these services would be useful for me?
I am happy to book us a free, no-strings-attached connection call. On these calls, I typically get clients to tell me a little bit about their situation and help them identify useful supports. If it's a good fit for both of us, we will go forward to schedule our next steps.
I need employment support but I don't have the funds. What should I do?
As a person with deep roots in the local employment support sector, I would be more than happy to meet with you and provide resource navigation (aka recommendations on which organizations might be helpful) for free or low-cost services.
Alternatively, I do offer sliding scale options and would be open to discussing potential trades with other service providers.
How long do people typically work with you?
As of right now, I am operating with an individual service model. What that means is that we would discuss which service option works best for you in our connection call or via my contact form and you would book each service separately. Since folks aren't being asked to cough up thousands of dollars for a customized session, this makes getting paid and professional employment support more affordable and accessible.
